Knowledge sharing & communication
KM fosters knowledge transfer among specific groups of people with common interests and goals (e.g., CoPs—communities of practice). While knowledge sharing and communication can occur in more informal settings, collaboration and networking opportunities via activities both in-person or online (e.g., forums, training sessions, etc.) can enhance this process and/or enlarge their scope. Methods can include dissemination of knowledge through mass media, interpersonal communication, and social networking outlets.
