Assessing the Feasibility of Postpartum IUD Provision in Rwanda

The Ministry of Health, with support from FHI 360 and Jhpiego, conducted a study to evaluate the feasibility of offering postpartum IUD services in hospitals and health centers in Rwanda, with the goal of scaling up the service nationwide. Based on the study findings, participants in a national dissemination meeting recommended that the MoH scale up the intervention as a means of expanding contraceptive options for postpartum women and increasing access to this highly effective contraceptive method.
